The Kitchen Cook position at Applebee's Grill + Bar - Tamarac is a vital role within the back-of-house (BOH) team, responsible for preparing food that meets or exceeds the restaurant's standards for hospitality and service. Whether working full-time or part-time, the successful candidate will handle various food preparation tasks aimed at ensuring all items are prepared in a sanitary, timely, and efficient manner. Attention to detail and adherence to recipe and presentation specifications are essential, ensuring guests consistently receive dishes with great taste and appealing presentation. The kitchen cook will be expected to operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, maintain cleanliness and organization of the work station, and ensure compliance with all sanitation and food production codes. This role contributes directly to the overall success of the restaurant by supporting smooth kitchen operations and helping maintain a high level of customer satisfaction. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Availability to work full time or part time
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items
  • Willingness to learn and follow food preparation procedures
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation role preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good communication and teamwork skills

Job Duties

  • Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
  • Follow recipes and presentation specifications
  • Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • Clean and maintain station practicing good safety and sanitation
  • Assist with cleaning and organization of kitchen and equipment
  • Restock items as needed throughout the shift
  • Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes
