Job Description
Farmstead Living is a premier assisted living community located in Moorhead, MN, dedicated to providing a warm and welcoming home for seniors where they can live life to the fullest. Our mission is to support the health and well-being of our residents by fostering a compassionate and caring environment. We prioritize quality care, safety, and resident satisfaction, ensuring that our community feels like home to every individual we serve. Known for our strong commitment to excellence and personalized care, Farmstead Living offers an engaging workplace where team members are valued and supported in making a positive impact daily.
We are currently seeking a full-time Kitchen Cook/Supervisor to join our dynamic team. This role combines hands-on food preparation with leadership responsibilities, playing a crucial part in ensuring smooth kitchen operations and upholding the highest standards of food quality and safety. The successful candidate will work full-time hours with the ability to cover weekends and holidays as required. Daily meal service times are scheduled at 8:30 am, 12:00 pm, and 5:00 pm, which means the role involves coordinating meal preparation and service within these time frames.
As a Kitchen Cook/Supervisor at Farmstead Living, you will prepare meals following established menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines to accommodate the unique needs of our residents. This includes managing special dietary requirements and preferences to ensure each meal is both nutritious and appealing. Attention to detail is critical in this position as you will monitor food portions, presentation, and timely delivery to support resident satisfaction.
In addition to food preparation, a significant component of the role is supervising kitchen staff. You will provide clear direction and support during your shifts, assist with training new team members, and promote a positive and respectful team environment. Collaboration with nursing, activities, and leadership teams is essential to ensure that resident needs are met through teamwork and effective communication.
Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment is vital. You will ensure compliance with food safety regulations, including proper storage, labeling, temperature control, and sanitation protocols. Monitoring and documenting kitchen logs such as temperature records and cleaning schedules falls under your responsibility to uphold state and federal standards, including those required by ServSafe certifications. The role demands strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time efficiently to meet the demands of a busy kitchen setting.
This position is ideal for someone who values both hands-on culinary work and leadership, ensuring that all kitchen operations contribute to the comfort and wellness of our residents. If you are passionate about food service excellence, safety, and leading a team with kindness and professionalism, Farmstead Living invites you to apply and be part of a team dedicated to making a meaningful difference.
