Job Requirements

  • Previous experience as a cook in healthcare, hospitality, or a similar setting preferred
  • ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to lead a team with professionalism
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices

Job Duties

  • Prepare meals according to established menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines
  • Ensure all meals are appealing, properly portioned, and served on schedule
  • Accommodate resident preferences and special dietary needs as appropriate
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area throughout the shift
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation standards, including proper storage, labeling, and temperature control
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations, including ServSafe requirements
  • Ensure kitchen equipment is cleaned, sanitized, and used safely
  • Monitor and document required kitchen logs (temperatures, cleaning records, etc.)
  • Provide clear direction and support to kitchen staff during assigned shifts
  • Assist with training new team members on procedures, safety, and resident-centered service
  • Collaborate with nursing, activities, and leadership teams to support resident needs
  • Promote a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment
