In this position, the individual will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and displaying food products in a clean, efficient, and appealing manner. The duties extend beyond mere cooking to include product rotation, inventory management, and customer service interactions at the service counter. The position demands maintaining excellent food quality by adhering to company policies on sanitation, safety, and product handling, including rigorous temperature monitoring and shrink control measures. The Kitchen Cook will actively participate in kitchen team activities following the company’s principles of respect, support, and teamwork (RSTO), ensuring a positive and productive work environment. \n\nKey responsibilities entail collaborating closely with the kitchen manager for daily menu planning, processing merchandise according to production guidelines, and following established sanitation practices. Maintaining stock by utilizing the oldest products first (FIFO method), minimizing waste, and reporting any refrigeration or safety issues promptly are critical aspects of the job. Secondary functions include restocking supplies efficiently, maintaining cleanliness of kitchen equipment and areas, upholding a professional appearance, and complying with loss prevention procedures. This comprehensive role requires physical stamina, as it involves lifting, standing, carrying, and operating kitchen machinery under varied environmental conditions. Job Requirements

  • must be 18 years of age
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of professional cooking experience
  • complete training in kitchen operation
  • ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • ability to work scheduled shifts as needed
  • authorized to work in the U.S.

Job Qualifications

  • successful experience in kitchen operation including line cooking, merchandising, ordering, inventory, and pricing

Job Duties

  • commit to the golden rule and work with other associates to build a strong kitchen team
  • achieve the highest associate morale by working respectfully, supportively, and totally team oriented (RSTO)
  • provide continuous attention to customers' needs at the service counter and assist with questions about food products
  • greet, assist, and thank customers courteously and prepare special orders
  • answer product questions and suggest product selections
  • collaborate with kitchen manager for daily meal or menu planning
  • guarantee outstanding product quality and presentation with cooperation from kitchen manager
  • process merchandise following production and sanitation standards
  • rotate kitchen ingredients and merchandise according to policy and use oldest products first (FIFO)
  • participate actively in shrink control, use proper tares, and minimize waste
  • practice proper sanitation procedures
  • maintain safety, food handling, and productivity standards
  • exercise safety practices when lifting or moving products and cleaning equipment
  • monitor cooler and display temperatures and report failures immediately
