The Kitchen Cook position at Applebee's - Farwell Drive is a vital role within the back-of-house (BOH) team, tailored for individuals who have a strong work ethic and a passion for food preparation. This role is available for both full-time and part-time employees, providing flexibility to suit different schedules and commitments. As a Kitchen Cook, you will be responsible for preparing food items that meet the restaurant's stringent standards for quality, presentation, and safety. You will work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure that all meals are prepared efficiently and meet quantity and timing requirements to satisfy customer demand.

Your duties will span across preparing various menu items following detailed recipes and presentation guidelines, ensuring every dish leaving the kitchen adheres to Applebee’s high standards. You will be trained to operate kitchen equipment safely and maintain a clean and organized workstation to comply with health and safety regulations. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds
  • willingness to adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment preferred
  • ability to follow recipes and maintain quality standards
  • strong teamwork and communication skills

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
  • follow recipes and presentation specifications
  • operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • clean and maintain station in practicing good safety and sanitation
  • assist with the cleaning and organization of kitchen and equipment
  • restock items as needed throughout the shift
  • adhere to all sanitation and food production codes
