The Kitchen Batch Prep Cook plays a crucial role within the NuVue Kitchen Team. This full-time position operates Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm. It focuses on the efficient preparation and sourcing of ingredients, proper organization of designated workstations, and maintenance of cleanliness and safety standards. The role demands an individual who is detail-oriented with a strong ability to follow preparation lists accurately, ensuring consistency and high-quality output every day. By managing inventory, adhering to HACCP standards, and supporting chefs with menu consistency, the Kitchen Batch Prep Cook helps maintain the smooth operation of the kitchen.
In addition to hands-on food preparation, the position requires active participation in sanitation of commercial kitchen equipment and work areas to support compliance with USDA, FDA, and SQF safety requirements. The Kitchen Batch Prep Cook will also handle end-of-day reporting which is critical for regulatory auditing and quality assurance. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous kitchen or food preparation experience preferred
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and recipes
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to work Monday through Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in a fast-paced environment
Job Qualifications
- Kitchen experience preferred
- Basic knife skills
- Ability to repetitively lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Job Duties
- Prepare bulk meats, vegetables, poultry, baked goods and other foods for packaging
- Prepare workstations with required ingredients and equipment to meet production goals
- Mix industrial size food batches according to recipes including measuring, weighing and storing
- Handle and store finished products ingredients in accordance with HAACP standards
- Perform daily cleaning and sanitizing of machinery utilized in the working stations
- Maintain a clean, sterile and safe work area using proper cleaning chemicals and equipment daily
- Participate in special attention projects for the upkeep of the commercial kitchen
- Complete and submit end-of-day paperwork to Commercial Kitchen Manager for USDA, FDA, and SQF compliance
- Maintain food safety under USDA, FDA, SQF requirements
