Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in food preparation preferred
- Valid food safety certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to follow safety and sanitation procedures
- Good communication skills
- Physical ability to handle kitchen demands including lifting and standing for long periods
- Commitment to teamwork and customer service
Job Qualifications
- Experience as a cook or in a related role
- Knowledge of basic principles of food preparation and various cooking methods
- Understanding of food safety regulations including accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
- Ability to acquire food safety certification
- Basic math and counting skills
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, walking, and standing for extended periods
Job Duties
- Cooking and preparing food items following specified production guidelines and standardized recipes
- Laying out the workstation with all essential equipment and ingredients
- Measuring, weighing, blending, cutting, trimming, and peeling food items to prepare ingredients
- Handling utensils and kitchen tools with care
- Operating devices like ovens, cooking surfaces, slicers, mixers, and other equipment
- Using various cooking methods such as baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming on meats, vegetables, and other food components
- Systematizing, embellishing, and apportioning meals according to predetermined guidelines
- Following food safety policies diligently when storing food items
- Ensuring that workstations, instruments, and utensils are hygienic and germ-free
- Prioritizing exceptional customer service with a friendly and upbeat approach
- Upholding safety policies and accurate food safety and sanitation practices
- Securing protection of business assets
