Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in food preparation or kitchen work
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation protocols
- must obtain food safety certification
- physical ability to perform kitchen tasks including lifting and standing for long hours
- excellent communication skills
- ability to work in a team environment and follow directions
Job Qualifications
- Experience as a cook or in a related role
- validated knowledge of basic food preparation principles and cooking methods
- understanding of food safety regulations including food handling, sanitation, and storage
- ability to acquire food safety certification
- basic math and counting skills
- good interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
- physical stamina including ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and stand for extended periods
Job Duties
- Cooking and preparing food items following specified production guidelines and standardized recipes
- laying out the workstation with all essential equipment and ingredients
- completing tasks such as measuring, weighing, blending, cutting, trimming, and peeling food items to prepare ingredients
- handling utensils and kitchen devices safely, including knives, ovens, slicers, and mixers
- using various cooking methods like baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming
- systematizing, embellishing, and apportioning meals according to guidelines
- ensuring hygiene by cleaning workstations, instruments, and utensils
- adhering to food safety policies
- upholding safety policies and providing exceptional customer service with a friendly attitude
