Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- experience working in a kitchen or food preparation environment
- knowledge of safe food handling, sanitation, and storage practices
- ability to obtain food safety certification
- basic math skills required
- good communication skills
- physical ability to perform kitchen duties including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods
Job Qualifications
- experience as a cook or in a related role required
- validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation
- knowledge of various cooking methods and food safety regulations
- ability to acquire food safety certification
- demonstrate basic math and counting skills
- demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
- capable of physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing
Job Duties
- cooking and preparing food items following specified production guidelines and standardized recipes
- lays out the workstation with all the essential equipment and ingredients
- completes tasks such as measuring, weighing, blending, cutting, trimming, and peeling food items to prepare ingredients
- uses devices like ovens, cooking surfaces, slicers, mixers, and other equipment
- uses an assortment of cooking methods like baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming on meats, vegetables, and other food components
- systematizes, embellishes, and apportions meals in accordance with predetermined guidelines
- ensures that workstations, instruments, and utensils are hygienic and germ-free
- prioritizes exceptional customer service and maintains a friendly and upbeat approach
- upholds safety policies and food safety and sanitation practices
