Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • experience working in a kitchen or food preparation environment
  • knowledge of safe food handling, sanitation, and storage practices
  • ability to obtain food safety certification
  • basic math skills required
  • good communication skills
  • physical ability to perform kitchen duties including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods

Job Qualifications

  • experience as a cook or in a related role required
  • validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation
  • knowledge of various cooking methods and food safety regulations
  • ability to acquire food safety certification
  • demonstrate basic math and counting skills
  • demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
  • capable of physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing

Job Duties

  • cooking and preparing food items following specified production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • lays out the workstation with all the essential equipment and ingredients
  • completes tasks such as measuring, weighing, blending, cutting, trimming, and peeling food items to prepare ingredients
  • uses devices like ovens, cooking surfaces, slicers, mixers, and other equipment
  • uses an assortment of cooking methods like baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming on meats, vegetables, and other food components
  • systematizes, embellishes, and apportions meals in accordance with predetermined guidelines
  • ensures that workstations, instruments, and utensils are hygienic and germ-free
  • prioritizes exceptional customer service and maintains a friendly and upbeat approach
  • upholds safety policies and food safety and sanitation practices
