As part of the school district's efforts to maintain a positive and productive environment, the Child Nutrition Office operates within the school to ensure students receive healthy and nutritious meals during their school day. This role is critical in supporting the overall mission of the school by contributing to the health and well-being of students through preparing, serving, and maintaining cleanliness in the school kitchen area.

Two Rivers High School is currently seeking a dependable and motivated individual to fill the position of Child Nutrition/Kitchen Assistant/Cashier for the 2026-2027 school year. The position is located onsite at Two Rivers High School, with work hours from 10:45 AM to 2:30 PM on student contact days, totaling 3.75 hours per day. This part-time position is remunerated with an hourly wage range of $19.24 to $22.03 based on the 2024-2025 salary schedule, in collaboration with ISD #197 and SEIU Local #284.

The Kitchen Assistant/Dishwasher role is a vital part of the school’s Child Nutrition Program. The successful candidate will be entrusted with washing meal trays, pans, and utensils utilizing a conveyor dishwasher and a 3-compartment sink. They will also perform various kitchen cleaning duties, maintaining a hygienic and safe environment for food preparation and service. Additionally, the role involves occasional assistance with meal preparation and serving for students, staff, and special school functions.

Attention to detail and adherence to proper meal patterns are key, especially when assisting to set up and serve at the meal lines. The individual hired will be expected to project a positive and professional image not only of themselves but of the school and Child Nutrition Program as a whole, reinforcing the school’s dedication to quality service and care for its community.

The position requires teamwork and flexibility as duties may be assigned to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen. The employee may also be asked to work at other district locations as needed, demonstrating adaptability and a willingness to contribute wherever necessary. The school district values diversity and inclusivity, encouraging candidates from all backgrounds to apply to contribute to a richer, more effective school community.

Candidates should have at minimum a high school diploma or equivalent, strong interpersonal skills, and a cooperative team-oriented attitude. The school district is committed to equal employment opportunities free from discrimination and encourages applications from individuals regardless of race, color, creed, religion, national origin, gender, age, marital status, disability, public assistance status, veteran status, or sexual orientation.

Benefits include complimentary meals during working hours, emphasizing care for staff well-being alongside student nutrition. The school district also provides financial assistance for pre-employment screening if needed, supporting candidates through the hiring process.

Overall, this position is ideal for individuals interested in working in a school environment, supporting child nutrition efforts, and contributing positively to student wellness and school operations.
