The available position is for a Child Nutrition Cashier/Kitchen Assistant who will work as a floater across various school locations within District 197 during the 2026-2027 school year. This role requires a dependable individual who can adapt to different school environments and effectively assist in multiple facets of the food service operation. The position is scheduled on all student contact days and involves working approximately six hours per day, with shifts starting from 7:00 AM to 7:45 AM and ending between 1:30 PM and 2:15 PM, including a 30-minute unpaid break. Salary for this position ranges from $19.04 to $22.03 per hour depending on the school level assignment, with slightly higher wages allocated for middle and high school locations. The role is vital to the daily operations of the Child Nutrition Department and requires someone who can maintain a professional presence while delivering excellent service to students, staff, and the broader school community.

In this role, you will assist in forecasting daily meal requirements and communicate effectively with supervisors to manage food supplies accurately. Your duties will include preparing and serving meals during school hours and special events, ensuring compliance with USDA reimbursement meal requirements, and handling point-of-sale transactions accurately.
