The role of Pump Kitchen Supervisor is critical to the success of the Pump & Pantry location. The supervisor is tasked with planning, organizing, directing, and managing both the staff and the resources at the location to ensure a seamless, high-quality, and profitable service experience. This role oversees multiple food brands operated under the Pump & Pantry umbrella, including P&P Food, Quiznos, Cinnabon, Little Caesar's, KKC, and Scoops. The supervisor ensures that all food preparation and service meet stringent quality standards consistently, offering customers an enjoyable and reliable experience.
The Pump Kitchen Supervisor plays a leadership role by fostering employee development and accountability. This includes addressing performance issues tactfully and managing corrective actions to support team success and growth. The supervisor is responsible for monitoring the kitchen’s cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance, both inside and out, ensuring all areas meet company standards and are in proper working order. Frequent communication with upper management about maintenance, customer feedback, and personnel concerns is also a key part of the role.
Operational responsibilities include managing kitchen staff to maintain efficient supply provisioning and purchasing, using data-driven decision-making tools like Date Code Genie to optimize food preparation quantities and timing, and enforcing waste reduction strategies. The supervisor ensures all staff adhere to proper uniform standards, receive necessary training on policies and procedures, and comply with sanitary food handling practices and health and safety regulations.
Additionally, the Pump Kitchen Supervisor ensures the store opens and closes smoothly, paperwork is completed accurately, and shift transitions are seamless. The role demands proactive issue resolution, particularly regarding food quality and service, and requires the supervisor to maintain a friendly, competent, and efficient customer service demeanor at all times.
