Job Description

This job opportunity is with a well-established local craft confectionery company, located in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle, close to Gasworks Park. The company specializes in creating artisanal, infused candies that emphasize high-quality ingredients and craftsmanship. Known for their unique product line, they cater to a discerning customer base that appreciates premium confectionery products. As a craft confectioner, the company operates a busy production facility that prioritizes both creativity and stringent food safety standards.

The position offered is for a Full-Time Kitchen Assistant, an essential role within the production team especially ahead of their busy season. This is a full-time employment opportunity offering a competitive hourly wage ranging from $21.30 to $24.00 per hour. The work schedule is structured across four days a week: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., totaling 36 hours per week. This schedule provides a consistent work pattern suited for applicants seeking stable, part-week employment.

The Full-Time Kitchen Assistant will work directly within the production environment, collaborating with a team dedicated to manufacturing high-quality infused candies in compliance with food safety regulations and the standards of the Liquor & Cannabis Board. The role is ideal for individuals with prior experience working in fast-paced kitchen or bakery settings where efficiency, attention to detail, and adherence to health standards are critical. The responsibilities include preparing and sanitizing food products, measuring and scaling ingredients, handling delicate tasks like cutting candied fruit and pouring hot candy mixtures into molds.

This role demands physical stamina, as the candidate must be comfortable with regularly lifting up to 50 pounds and performing repetitive tasks efficiently. The company values employees who excel in fast production environments while maintaining the highest quality and safety standards in every batch produced.

Additionally, this role offers a robust benefits package through the staffing agency Verstela, which includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, short-term disability coverage, term life and accident insurance, identity theft protection, prescription plans, and a 401(k) retirement savings option. These benefits reflect the company’s commitment to supporting its temporary employees with comprehensive health and financial protections.

Interested candidates are encouraged to apply promptly, particularly those who hold a valid Washington State Food Worker Card, as it is a mandatory qualification for this role. The staffing client participates in the E-Verify program, ensuring compliance with employment eligibility verification requirements. Overall, this position is an excellent fit for someone passionate about working with quality food products in an engaging, fast-paced, team-oriented production environment, with a strong emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance.
