Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County is a well-established non-profit organization dedicated to serving vulnerable populations within the community. The organization focuses on delivering compassionate support and essential services to individuals and families facing hardships, including older adults. With a steadfast commitment to social justice and inclusive care, Catholic Charities operates various community programs designed to improve the quality of life for those they serve. These programs encompass critical areas such as nutrition, housing assistance, counseling, and advocacy. As a trusted community partner, Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County adheres to rigorous standards of service delivery, ensuring all programs meet or exceed governmental regulations and expectations. The organization fosters a respectful, diverse, and inclusive workplace culture, promoting equal opportunity and non-discriminatory practices.
The Kitchen Aide role is an essential part of Catholic Charities’ Nutrition Services, specifically aimed at supporting the meal preparation and service for older adults. This part-time position, typically requiring up to 24 hours per week, involves assisting the Nutrition Manager in preparing and serving hot meals that comply with food safety regulations mandated by Santa Clara County. The role emphasizes maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, following Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines in food storage, preparation, and sanitation, and ensuring meals are assembled and served according to standardized recipes and portion controls. This position is ideal for individuals who demonstrate a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a passionate commitment to providing high-quality customer service to older adult community members. In fulfilling these duties, the Kitchen Aide contributes directly to the mission of Catholic Charities by helping to nourish and care for a vital segment of the population. Moreover, this role requires adherence to health and safety protocols, including food safety certification and physical capability to manage kitchen tasks such as lifting and standing for extended periods. Working in an industrial kitchen and community dining room environment, the incumbent will interact regularly with both the Nutrition Manager and program participants, ensuring that the meal service runs smoothly, efficiently, and safely. This is a non-exempt, part-time position with a standard work schedule during weekdays and the occasional need for extended hours to meet program demands.
