This role plays an integral part in maintaining and enhancing the quality of Parlor Doughnuts' specialty food items. As they expand their team, they seek a dedicated team member to prepare cafe food quickly, efficiently, and with a high level of craftsmanship. The ideal candidate will focus on ensuring that specialty products, such as keto, vegan, and chocolate muffins, are fully stocked and meet or exceed Parlor Doughnuts' strict quality standards. This position requires commitment to following recipes and portion control guidelines to maintain consistency. Alongside food preparation tasks, team members will maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and adhere strictly to food safety and sanitation protocols to provide customers with a safe dining experience.

The position also encompasses assisting the front-of-house team by providing excellent customer service — including taking orders, answering questions, and respectfully addressing customer concerns. Teamwork and versatility are emphasized, as duties may extend to general cleaning tasks such as sweeping, washing dishes, garbage disposal, and preparing packaging materials like boxes and stamped bags. Job Requirements

  • previous experience in a hospitality or restaurant setting is preferred but not required
  • knowledge of basic food handling and preparation techniques
  • strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • physical stamina to withstand a full shift on their feet
  • must obtain/maintain serv safe or state certification
  • knowledge/training/certification in kitchen emergencies (first aid, cpr, fires)

Job Duties

  • assist with food preparation and cooking under the direction of the kitchen manager or head chef
  • prepare all specialty food items (keto, vegan, etc.) by following recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistent quality
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area
  • adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe dining experience for customers
  • help front of house by providing excellent customer service by taking orders, answering questions, and addressing customer concerns
  • help direct in additional duties such as sweeping, dishes, or garbage
  • help front of house with tasks, e.g. box making, bag stamping, & wiping down tables
