Ernie's Truck Plaza, located at 10986 S State St, Sandy, UT 84070, is a well-established stop designed to cater to travelers and truck drivers. As part of its array of services, Ernie's Truck Plaza offers a vibrant food service operation under the PROSTOP №3 brand. The facility focuses on delivering quality food with a commitment to customer satisfaction and maintaining a clean, efficient environment. The position available at Ernie’s Truck Plaza is for a dedicated Kitchen Team Member who will play an essential role in food preparation and kitchen operations within the PROSTOP №3 property. The role entails completing assigned prep work, setting up the cooks station, and maintaining product presentations alongside product quality and cook time standards. Preparing all menu items according to the restaurant’s recipes, plate presentations, and specifications is a core responsibility that ensures customers receive consistent and well-presented meals.
This role requires hands-on involvement in the day-to-day kitchen activities, including setting up equipment, verifying stock levels, maintaining cleanliness, and cleaning cooking equipment to meet health and safety standards. The position demands strong communication skills and physical capabilities, including the ability to lift between 25 to 50 pounds, proficient use of culinary knives, slicing, and other food preparation equipment. Working in this role involves standing and exerting well-paced mobility for periods lasting up to six hours, reflecting the dynamic and fast-paced kitchen environment.
In addition to core responsibilities, team members are encouraged to cross-train and learn other stations within the kitchen. This cross-training approach fosters professional growth and flexibility while ensuring a well-rounded skill set. By contributing positively to the kitchen team dynamics, the Kitchen Team Member will support a collaborative and productive work environment that upholds the high standards of Ernie’s Truck Plaza and the PROSTOP brand.
