Uplift Education is a network of public charter schools dedicated to creating and sustaining educational environments of excellence. Focused on empowering each student to reach their highest potential in college and the global marketplace, Uplift fosters a life-long love of learning, achievement, and service. Through their network of campuses, including Uplift Hampton Preparatory located in the 75232 area, the organization strives to positively impact the lives of students and their communities by providing quality education and support programs that encourage academic success, character development, and social responsibility. \n\nUplift Education offers a dynamic and supportive workplace environment where staff are encouraged to grow professionally and personally. The Campus Operations team plays a pivotal role in supporting the daily functions that keep the schools running smoothly, ensuring students and staff have access to clean, safe, and well-maintained facilities and nutritious meals. A key position within this operational framework is the Kitchen Manager role. \n\nThe Kitchen Manager at Uplift Hampton Preparatory leads the Child Nutrition Program (CNP) team, ensuring that appropriate quantities of food are prepared and served in compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal health and safety regulations. This full-time role, starting at an annual salary of $43,888, involves overseeing the kitchen’s day-to-day operations with an emphasis on quality control, staff management, inventory oversight, and adherence to safety and sanitation guidelines. The manager is responsible for supervising and cross-training kitchen staff, producing work schedules, providing performance feedback, and ensuring food storage meets regulatory standards. The role requires active leadership to maintain a welcoming environment across the cafeteria and kitchen, promote menu participation, and monitor portion control to comply with USDA and TDA meal patterns. \n\nIn addition to operational management, the Kitchen Manager handles logistical aspects such as production planning, order placement, inventory management, and accurate data entry into the Titan Menu Daily system. They ensure accuracy in counting and claiming meal data, monitor food production and waste, and oversee cash drawer reconciliations, including daily sales and account balances. Collaboration with Operations Directors to coordinate meals for special events such as field trips and testing is also essential. The Kitchen Manager participates in ongoing training and takes part in additional kitchen tasks as required, fostering open communication with all school staff and parents. This role is critical to delivering a high standard of food service that supports the school’s mission to nurture student achievement and well-being. The manager must be proficient in relevant technology, hold current or obtain ServSafe certification, and demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills.
