The Server role at KGCC involves engaging directly with patrons in the restaurant dining room, delivering outstanding service aligned with the club's policies and state regulations. The server is responsible for greeting guests warmly, explaining menu specials in detail, taking and serving orders in the appropriate sequence, and ensuring guests have the best possible dining experience. Responsibilities also include handling cash accurately, using the POS system efficiently, maintaining cleanliness and stock at the workstation, and collaborating with team members to provide seamless service. A solid knowledge of wine and beverage options is essential, as is the ability to handle customer inquiries professionally. The position requires attentive, friendly, and proactive service, with a focus on creating a welcoming and enjoyable environment for all guests. Servers are also expected to participate in training sessions, complete side work, and assist with special projects as needed. This role demands physical stamina and flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Additional certifications, such as a Tribal Gaming License and Mandatory Alcohol Server Training (MAST), are required, along with health-related clearances like the Hepatitis A vaccination and a Washington State Food Handler Permit. Job Requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Tribal Gaming License
- Washington State Food Handler Permit within 14 days of start date
- hepatitis A vaccination
- mandatory Alcohol Server Training (MAST) certification
- available and willing to work nights weekends and holidays as required
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
- one to three months related experience and/or training helpful or equivalent combination of education and experience
- experience working as a waiter/waitress preferred
- must possess excellent customer relations and customer service skills
- ability to handle cash and give proper change
- skill in identifying and resolving problems under pressure conditions
- ability to learn and operate the POS system
Job Duties
- Ensures compliance with Kalispel Tribe of Indians Washington State Regulations and KGCC Policies and Procedures
- use the POS system as trained
- greet guests in a Kalispel friendly manner smiling and with an upbeat attitude
- explain any specials in detail and mention what items appear most appealing that day
- take their beverage and deliver while they are reviewing their menu choices
- take food orders in the proper sequence by seat number
- serve the orders women served first
- clear all dishes and glassware from their table politely asking if they are finished
- present the guest check explaining the process
- collect payment from the guest and provide change when necessary
- provide constant attentive and friendly service to all guests
- educate the guests about the daily specials and answer any questions they may have
- be knowledgeable about wine and be prepared to answer guest questions about wine pairing
- communicate with your supervisor to resolve any guest questions in a timely manner
- keep payments orderly and neat throughout your shift
- sell beverages and alcohol beverages plus refill beverages
- maintain assigned sections and workstations
- assist other servers with all of the above to ensure total teamwork
- complete all side work in a timely and satisfactory manner to ensure a clean neat work area with adequate supply level
- maintain a clean and stocked server station
- correctly perform all necessary paper and bookwork at shifts end
- relay any complaints problems or positive remarks to shift supervisor
- maintains confidential daily record keeping of tips
- attend all training meetings
- assist in other projects as directed
- may be required to be a panelist for the Internal Review board Hearings
