This Key Hourly position plays a critical leadership role within the restaurant, reporting directly to the General Manager or Regional Manager. In the absence of the salaried manager, the Key Hourly individual ensures strict adherence to Duffy's brand standards, employment policies, health and safety regulations, and financial performance benchmarks to uphold operational excellence. The position requires vigilance in overseeing all aspects of restaurant operations, including monitoring food quality, employee job performance, labor and food costs, and customer service activities. This role acts as the hands-on leadership presence on the floor, setting standards for service and efficiency.

The individual in this role will be responsible for managing restaurant conditions to deliver an exceptional guest experience, including supervising preparation and presentation of food and beverages, cashier functions such as cash transactions and comps, and overseeing the use of operational equipment. Additionally, the Key Hourly will drive operational decisions based on data analysis, manage organizational projects or services, and engage in sales and marketing activities to support the restaurant's success. Other key responsibilities include preparing staff work assignments, monitoring team performance, and maintaining positive communication with guests and coworkers alike.

This position demands a versatile individual who can also step into various operational roles such as server, expediter, bartender, line cook, dishwasher, busser, or food runner whenever necessary to maintain smooth workflow. Proficiency in computer software, including MS Office and computerized cash registers, is essential for documentation and reporting responsibilities, such as logging events and managing the manager’s log.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in restaurant operations preferred
  • Ability to operate computer systems including MS Office and cash register software
  • Physical capability to stand for long periods
