The company operates several locations that emphasize maintaining high standards of food preparation, customer service, and operational excellence. Duffy's places strong importance on adherence to brand standards, employment policies, and maintaining a safe, healthy environment for both guests and employees. As a prominent player in the hospitality sector, Duffy's works to deliver a consistent and enjoyable dining atmosphere enhanced by a skilled and professional workforce.
The role of Key Hourly at Duffy's is a critical position designed to ensure operational effectiveness in the absence of the salaried Manager. This position involves overseeing daily restaurant operations to maintain the standards and policies set forth by the company. The Key Hourly acts as a leader on the floor, monitoring employee performance, managing food and labor costs, and ensuring the overall quality and presentation of food and beverages meet Duffy's high expectations. The position requires strong familiarity with the company’s MVP Program and the operational tools including computer software like MS Office and computerized cash registers.
The Key Hourly plays a versatile role, capable of performing various duties such as server, expediter, bartender, line cook, dishwasher, busser, or food runner as needed, adapting fluidly to the demands of the restaurant environment. This role demands excellent interpersonal skills and a professional approach to interactions with coworkers and customers alike. The candidate must embody qualities such as dependability, initiative, adaptability, stress tolerance, attention to detail, self-control, integrity, cooperation, concern for others, and a social orientation conducive to team environments.
Beyond managing operations and staff, the Key Hourly must also address various physical and mental demands of the job. The role requires standing for long periods, using fine and gross motor skills, multitasking effectively, handling heavy lifting up to 40 pounds, and working across different shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. A successful Key Hourly will not only maintain the smooth function of the restaurant but will also contribute to a positive workplace culture that aligns with Duffy's traditions and guest expectations, ensuring every visitor leaves satisfied and eager to return.
