We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Keno Writer to join our team. This role is vital to the smooth operation of the Keno gaming area, involving the accurate writing of Keno tickets and the collection of wagers from players both at the Keno counter and in areas outside of the Keno lounge. In this position, the employee will provide prompt and courteous service to guests in accordance with established departmental and company policies. The role demands excellent customer interaction skills, a strong understanding of the Keno game and related equipment, and the ability to perform cash handling duties responsibly. Candidates will also be expected to assist in verifying payoffs, processing fills and tax forms, and maintaining the necessary inventory for the Keno station.
The Keno Writer position requires individuals who are comfortable working in an active gaming environment that might include variable noise, lighting, and temperature conditions. Physical demands include the ability to walk or stand for extended periods, lift and move products up to 50 pounds, and perform fine finger manipulations necessary for handling tickets and equipment. The role is highly interactive, thus patience, tact, and diplomacy in guest interactions are essential qualities.
Ideal candidates will have previous cash handling experience, preferably with familiarity in Keno operations. High attention to detail, strong math skills, and the ability to operate Keno computer systems and related devices are crucial. Compliance with Title 31 regulations and company policies is mandatory for maintaining the integrity and safety of the gaming environment. Additionally, the Keno Writer will be responsible for promoting the Players Club and encouraging guests to join, thereby supporting the casino's marketing goals.
This full-time role reports directly to the Keno Supervisor, and a regular, predictable attendance is a must. The company requires employees to maintain a professional image and adhere to uniform standards. Alcohol Awareness Certification and Employee Gaming Registration are mandatory certifications for this position. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- high school diploma or equivalent is required
- effectively communicate with others both verbally and in written form using the English language
- previous cash handling experience required
- previous Keno experience preferred
- Alcohol Awareness Certification is required
- Employee Gaming registration required
- ability to walk, stand, or sit for long periods of time
- ability to lift and move products up to 50 lbs

Job Duties
- Effectively interact with guests showing patience, tact, and diplomacy
- assist in the verification of payoffs, processing fills and W2G forms
- write and run Keno in accordance with departmental policies and procedures
- ability to walk at a relatively quick pace
- manually calculate Keno tickets
- practices good money handling skills

- operate all functions of the Keno Computer System, Ticket Printers and Ball Drawing Device
- stock supplies as needed

- knowledgeable of and consistently follow Nugget policies and procedures as well as appropriate local, state, and federal regulations
- perform work in a safe manner and always maintain a safe environment for fellow team members and guests alike
- immediately report unsafe conditions, team member or guest incidents to Security, Management, and the Safety Manager
- always maintain a positive and professional image for the Nugget when performing duties or representing the Nugget and encourages others to do the same
- regular predictable attendance is required
