Job Requirements

  • Must be 16 years of age or older
  • Must have or be pursuing a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Positive attitude, hardworking and self-motivated
  • Attention to detail and effective communication skills
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying seasonal conditions
  • Willingness to follow strict sanitation and safety protocols

Job Qualifications

  • Confidence around animals and pets
  • Knowledge of proper animal restraint techniques
  • Knowledge of infectious diseases and control measures
  • Ability in reasoning, remembering, mathematics, reading, writing, and speaking English proficiently
  • Currently pursuing or attained a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be 16 years of age or older

Job Duties

  • Provide compassionate care to boarding pets and hospitalized patients
  • Check-in animals for boarding, talk with owners, write feeding and medication instructions, play times, walks, additional services, and record all information on boarding forms
  • Feed and water animals according to schedules and administer medications and flea and tick control
  • Monitor pets for signs of stress, abnormal activity, vomiting, diarrhea, or blood, and report to doctors and technicians
  • Clean and disinfect cages, runs, yards, and all pet-related items
  • Supervise animals during yard time and perform playtimes or walks as requested
  • Manage kennel bedding and hospital laundry using washers and dryers
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and communication with clients and veterinary staff
