Job Description
Pechanga Resort and Casino is a world-class destination known for its exceptional hospitality, luxurious accommodations, and diverse dining experiences. Situated in Temecula, California, Pechanga is recognized as the largest casino in California and is celebrated for its four-diamond service standard, which ensures guests receive top-tier care and attention throughout their stay. The resort offers a variety of restaurants, bars, and lounges, each featuring unique menus and atmospheres designed to cater to a wide range of tastes and preferences. Pechanga’s commitment to excellence is evident not only in its gaming and lodging but also in its dedication to providing memorable dining experiences through outstanding guest service.
The Server role at Pechanga Resort and Casino plays a crucial part in delivering this signature service. As ambassadors of the resort’s guest service philosophy, servers customize each dining experience to make it memorable and enjoyable for every guest. This position requires extensive knowledge of the menu, including food, beverage, and wine options, as well as impeccable service etiquette and sales skills. Servers are responsible for greeting guests warmly, understanding their unique preferences and expectations, and delivering personalized recommendations and service. They act as a personable and professional face for the resort’s four-diamond service commitment, ensuring every interaction with guests reflects the highest standard of hospitality.
In addition to creating a friendly dining atmosphere, servers at Pechanga contribute significantly to the business by engaging guests in upselling and cross-selling menu items that complement their tastes. Their ability to foster professional relationships with clientele not only enhances guest satisfaction but also positively impacts the resort’s bottom line. The role demands attention to detail and efficiency in taking and delivering accurate food and beverage orders, managing multiple tables simultaneously through strong multitasking and time management skills.
The Server position does not include supervisory responsibilities but is vital to the seamless operation of the restaurant departments within the resort. Servers must maintain a commitment to the Four Diamond Service Agreement, adhering to quality standards and demonstrating a consistent level of excellence in every service interaction. Furthermore, they must be capable of handling tasks such as resetting tables, clearing used dishware, and maintaining an accurate running check of guests’ orders and payments, all while ensuring compliance with Pechanga Resort and Casino’s cash handling policies.
To qualify for the Server role, candidates must have at least a high school diploma or GED, with preference given to those who have prior experience in a similar position. Proficiency in English communication is essential, alongside basic mathematical skills required for accurate billing and handling of American currency. Candidates must also be able to obtain and maintain a Class "A" gaming license, Food Handlers Certificate, and Tips Certification as mandated by the resort. Physical abilities such as tray service handling, carrying, and unloading, along with the capacity to follow directions and multitask effectively, are also critical to success in this role.
Pechanga provides comprehensive training, including service-related classes through the Pechanga Leadership Development Academy (PLDA), ensuring all team members are well-equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to uphold the resort’s reputation for outstanding guest service. Working as a server at Pechanga Resort and Casino offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic hospitality team dedicated to creating unforgettable experiences for guests in one of California's premier resort destinations.
