The Kalia Theater Group Sales Manager at Highgate plays a critical role in driving group business and cultivating preferred partnerships to support the growth and success of the Kalai Theater. This position requires a proactive sales leader who can meet or exceed revenue goals through strategic solicitation and relationship-building with business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) prospects. The manager will conduct thorough site inspections and venue tours, clearly articulating the key features and benefits of the theater to prospective clients and partners. Additionally, the role involves event management responsibilities, including contract creation, execution, and detailed planning leading up to event days. The Group Sales Manager will collaborate closely with the general manager in group business reviews and contribute to pricing strategy decisions. To excel, the candidate must gain comprehensive knowledge of theater operations including food and beverage, guest services, and reservations, while adhering to company sales policies and standard operating procedures.

This is an onsite position requiring expertise in Hawaii hotel sales with the ability to operate within a sales budget and utilize the company’s computerized sales management system effectively. The role demands excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and maintain a service-oriented approach toward guests and staff alike. Active participation in community and professional networks is encouraged to foster new business opportunities. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Hawaii hotel sales experience is essential
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written with all levels of employees and guests
  • Must be skilled in Windows, company-approved spreadsheets and word processing
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
  • Approaching all encounters in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner
  • Attend all hotel-required meetings and trainings
  • Participate in M.O.D. coverage as required
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel standards
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing nametags
  • Comply with Highgate Hotel standards and regulations
  • Effective at handling problems by anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving
  • Ability to understand and evaluate complex information and data from various sources
  • Maintain confidentiality of information
  • Ability to work onsite

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in a hotel or related field preferred
  • College coursework in a related field is helpful
  • Skilled in Windows, company-approved spreadsheets and word processing
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Knowledge of hotel sales policies and procedures
  • Ability to understand and evaluate complex information

Job Duties

  • Meet or exceed sales solicitation and revenue goals
  • Invite prospective clients to the venue for tours and site inspections
  • Create target lists of B to B and B to C prospective clients
  • Conduct professional, thorough site inspections of the theater with clients and partners, highlighting key features and benefits
  • Assist in implementing special promotions and incentives related to direct sales segments
  • Manage definite group events from contract to event day detailing
  • Create, execute and negotiate group contracts
  • Assist in the preparation of required reports in a timely manner
  • Attend Group Business Review meetings with GM, demonstrating strategic pricing acumen
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of theater operations including food and beverage, guest services and reservations
  • Ensure adherence to company sales policies and standard operating procedures
  • Operate the Sales Department within established sales expense budgets
  • Initiate and follow up on sales leads
  • Monitor production of top accounts and evaluate market trends
  • Utilize computerized sales management system for managing business, generating reports, and building accounts
  • Develop networking opportunities through active participation in community and professional associations, activities and events
