The Kaizen Coordinator role at Bloom Energy is a unique opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement efforts within one of today's most cutting-edge technologies. Based in Fremont, CA, this fully on-site, night-shift position (6pm - 6am, Sunday through Tuesday, including alternating Wednesdays) reports to the Senior Manager of Manufacturing. The Kaizen Coordinator plays a crucial role in driving operational excellence on the production floor by leading Kaizen workshops, facilitating Gemba walks, and supporting Lean Manufacturing and 5S methodologies. This role requires a passionate individual eager to identify opportunities for process optimization, reduce waste, and improve material flow to enhance overall productivity, quality, and safety.
As a key member of cross-functional teams that include production, quality, logistics, and engineering, the Kaizen Coordinator will analyze current processes, implement sustainable improvements, and track performance metrics to ensure continuous progress. Responsibilities also include conducting daily 5S audits, organizing improvement competitions, and engaging employees at all levels to cultivate a culture grounded in continuous improvement principles. The position offers a dynamic work environment where adaptability, excellent communication, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and specialized software are essential. Job Requirements
- Must be able to bend, lift up to 25 lbs, walk, and stand for extended periods of time consecutively
- willingness to work night shift from 6pm to 6am, Sunday-Tuesday including alternating Wednesday
- ability to work on-site in Fremont, CA
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
- basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles
Job Qualifications
- Passion for continuous improvement
- ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization
- excellent written and oral communication skills
- proficiency in commonly used and specialized software
- strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills
- demonstrated ability to work in high-paced, changing environments
- 1-2 years of related experience preferred
Job Duties
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives using Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and 5S methodologies
- facilitate Kaizen workshops, Gemba walks, and process improvement events on the production floor
- analyze current-state processes, identify waste, and implement sustainable process improvements
- implement and sustain 5S standards through daily audits and competitions
- create and maintain value stream maps to improve material and process flow
- collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, logistics, and engineering
- track and report key performance metrics related to safety, quality, delivery, and productivity
- build and assemble parts as needed to support manufacturing operations
- engage employees at all levels to foster a culture of continuous improvement
