The General Manager role at K9 Resorts is a full-time, salary-exempt position responsible for overseeing all aspects of resort operations. This dynamic leadership position is critical to driving the business's success, managing teams, and ensuring that every guest enjoys a five-star experience. The General Manager will spearhead leadership and team development initiatives, operational management, customer service excellence, marketing efforts, community engagement, and financial performance. By leading a motivated and talented team, the General Manager ensures the smooth functioning of daily operations, maintains the highest standards of pet care, cleanliness, and safety, and fosters a positive, accountability-driven culture among staff.
In this role, you will lead the hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance review processes, building a high-performing team committed to delivering outstanding service. You will oversee scheduling, staffing levels, vendor relationships, facility maintenance, and inventory control, ensuring the resort operates efficiently and profitably. The General Manager plays a vital role in enhancing customer satisfaction by setting and maintaining five-star service expectations, resolving customer concerns personally, and driving client retention and enrollment growth. Additionally, you will act as a Brand Ambassador, developing partnerships with local veterinarians, groomers, and pet-related businesses, while leading marketing initiatives to grow awareness and clientele.
Financial stewardship is also a key facet of this role, with accountability for profit and loss performance, budget management, payroll, and the monitoring of key performance indicators to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Job Duties
- Lead and develop assistant managers, supervisors, and resort team members
- own full-cycle talent management including hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance
