Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, associate's degree or college credits
  • Three professional references, including at least one from a previous supervisor
  • State and federal background checks

Job Qualifications

  • Passion for education and putting students first
  • An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be
  • Having a teaching credential or certificate
  • Possessing a 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit
  • Previous experience in special education settings
  • Being bilingual and/or having bilingual teaching experience

Job Duties

  • Supervise and support students in the classroom, playground, or cafeteria
  • Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
  • Encourage student engagement and participation throughout the day
  • Manage classroom routines, behavior, and transitions, following any lesson plans left by the teacher
  • Communicate clearly with school staff
  • Leave brief notes or feedback for the returning teacher
  • Sit, stand, and walk, and able to lift up to 30 lbs while safely assisting students
  • Observe and communicate across varied environments, including indoor and outdoor settings
  • Follow additional role requirements as outlined in the handbook and interview
