Job Description

Scoot Education is a specialized staffing partner dedicated to transforming educational experiences by providing exceptional and tailored support to schools. With a focus on creating the best possible learning environments, Scoot Education serves as a bridge between talented educators and schools across various sectors, including public, charter, private, independent, and faith-based institutions. This diverse range of partnerships allows Scoot Education to supply both short-term and long-term educational staffing solutions tailored to the unique needs of each school district. Their commitment to matching educators to roles that align with their skills, experiences, and interests ensures a positive, impactful experience for students and school communities alike.

The company values its educators and supports them extensively through dedicated Education Consultants. These consultants provide personalized assistance by matching educators to assignments that fit their background and career aspirations. They also offer 1:1 check-ins to discuss feedback, answer questions, and share best practices derived from their own teaching experiences. This level of support helps educators grow professionally and remain engaged and motivated throughout their assignments. Furthermore, Scoot Education prioritizes inclusivity and equal opportunity, ensuring that employment decisions are merit-based and free from discrimination on any protected grounds.

The role in focus is a substitute teaching and student-support position designed for individuals passionate about education and putting students first. This non-exempt role involves supervising and supporting students in various school environments such as classrooms, playgrounds, and cafeterias. Responsibilities include fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive atmosphere that encourages student engagement and participation, managing classroom routines and behavior, and communicating effectively with school staff. Educators are expected to follow lesson plans left by regular teachers and provide clear notes or feedback to ensure continuity of learning.

Scoot Education values bilingual educators, particularly those with Mandarin language skills or experience in bilingual education, recognizing the increasing demand for these qualifications. While a bachelor's degree, associate's degree, or college credits are required, the company also looks favorably on candidates who hold teaching credentials, certificates, or substitute teaching permits. Previous teaching experience, especially in special education, is considered an asset.

Compensation for this role is competitive, ranging from $150 to $263 per day, with pay varying by assignment length, location, certification, and role. Educators benefit from paid training hours and ongoing professional development opportunities, helping them stay equipped with current teaching practices and strategies. Payroll is managed through weekly direct deposits, with employees hired as W-2 to ease tax-related concerns. Additionally, Scoot Education reimburses expenses for required background checks and offers a 401(k) plan upon meeting eligibility requirements.

Other perks include a flexible schedule, a referral program that rewards both the referring and referred educators with gift cards, and a supportive working environment driven by a genuine commitment to educational excellence. This role is an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals seeking to contribute meaningfully to student success while advancing their careers in education with the backing of a thoughtful and experienced staffing partner.
