Job Requirements
- Associate's degree or higher with a major in culinary arts or related field
- Minimum of 3 years experience in the food service industry
- Institutional or school nutrition experience preferred
- Experience providing culinary training or coaching preferred
- Valid Food Handler's Permit/license required
- Valid Driver's License required
- Must obtain ServSafe permit/license within 6 months of being hired
- Must certify with the School Nutrition Association Level 2 or 3 within 2 years of being hired
- Must have current knowledge of culinary techniques, recipe development, food safety, and sanitation
- Must understand USDA child nutrition regulations and school food service operations

Job Duties
- Develop and prepare nutritious and appealing menus and recipes that comply with USDA child nutrition regulations
- Monitor and ensure food safety and sanitation procedures are rigorously followed in all food preparation areas
- Provide culinary training, coaching, and support to child nutrition staff to enhance skills and operational efficiency
- Oversee daily food production activities in accordance with quality standards and serve as a resource for problem-solving culinary challenges
- Maintain compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements including obtaining and updating necessary certifications
- Collaborate with department leaders and other stakeholders to improve nutrition programs and service delivery
- Manage inventory control and ordering processes to ensure adequate supplies and minimize food waste
