The role of Pastry Cook at AHC Hospitality is a full-time opportunity that requires weekend availability and offers a competitive compensation package ranging from $17.00 to $24.00 per hour. This position is crucial in maintaining the high standards of quality and presentation that AHC is known for. As a Pastry Cook, you will be responsible for measuring and mixing ingredients such as flour, flavorings, and fruits to create delicious pastries. Your expertise will also extend to cutting and decorating pastries and tortes using various tools and icing designs. Creativity and precision in developing new recipes and designs are highly valued in this role. The Pastry Cook is held accountable for upholding the exceptional quality of products while maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of the workstations, shops, and equipment. The role necessitates a blend of basic culinary skills, rapid and efficient work habits, a keen sense of taste and smell, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. It demands physical endurance as well, with the need to stand in hot environments for extended periods.
In addition to culinary skills, the successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure and handle emergency situations with composure. The role includes attending departmental meetings and adhering strictly to the company handbook policies and standard operating procedures. An emphasis is placed on providing outstanding guest service, often going above and beyond to meet the expectations of General Managers, Guest Care Managers, and guests. The Pastry Cook will also utilize resources across other AHC hotels and staff, complete cleaning and daily responsibilities diligently, and contribute actively to a smooth and efficient kitchen operation.
