This part-time Concierge Lounge Attendant position provides employees with varied shifts that include weekend availability, offering the flexibility needed to accommodate different schedules. The role is essential in ensuring guests receive the highest standard of service while maintaining food and beverage safety standards. The Concierge Lounge Attendant will play a pivotal role in creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere, assisting guests efficiently and courteously. Responsibilities include hosting and serving food and beverage offerings during morning and evening service periods, operating the Oracle Point of Sale system accurately to ring in drinks and process transactions, and handling all guest requests with professionalism and tact to resolve issues at first contact. The position requires knowledge of food safety protocols, with mandatory completion of TIPS certification and Great Food/Safe Food training to ensure compliance with health standards.

An ideal candidate will be familiar with the Grand Rapids local area to provide insightful recommendations to guests and knowledgeable about the hotel’s rooms, services, and facilities. The Concierge Lounge Attendant must conduct daily tasks according to checklist procedures and maintain awareness of quality assurance inspections to uphold internal service standards. Additionally, the role involves interpersonal engagement techniques to welcome guests warmly and bid them farewell on departure, while respecting cultural differences to tailor service to diverse clientele.

This position is also responsible for daily training and development of associates, supporting their skills in communication, hospitality, customer service, and technical operations using prepared training materials. Competence in arranging guest needs such as car rental, transportation tickets, office services, beauty treatments, shopping, restaurant reservations, and other special requests is crucial. Additionally, the Concierge Lounge Attendant will promote the Marriott Bonvoy program by recognizing and honoring members’ elite statuses, delivering on the benefits associated with their reward levels.

Maintaining proper grooming standards to present a professional image is mandatory, alongside being knowledgeable about AYS operations and systems. This role demands the ability to stand for eight hours and requires proficient verbal and written communication skills, as well as basic computer proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. While a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, related customer service experience is valuable for success in this role. Job Duties

  • Host and serve food and beverage offerings to guests during morning and nightly service
  • Complete TIPS certification within 90 days
  • Ensure Great Food/Safe Food training is completed to follow all food safety procedures
  • Utilize Oracle Point of Sale system to ring in drinks and cash out guest checks
  • Handle all guest requests and solve guest opportunities at first contact
  • Have a working knowledge of Grand Rapids area and recommend local area offerings
  • Be knowledgeable about rooms, services, and facilities of the hotel
  • Perform all tasks on the AM and PM Concierge Lounge checklist
  • Understand and perform based on Quality Assurance inspection audit
  • Ensure guests receive a warm welcome and fond farewell in the Concierge Lounge
  • Be familiar with cultural differences to meet guest's specific needs
  • Train associates daily using prepared materials in communication, hospitality, and technical skills
  • Offer and arrange car rental, airline and train tickets, office and beauty services, shopping, and restaurant reservations
  • Maintain the Marriott Bonvoy Program by recognizing reward member elite statuses
  • Ensure compliance with grooming standards and lead by example
  • Assist and be knowledgeable of AYS operations and systems
