Job Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- ability to travel extensively including overnight stays
- ability to work independently and remotely from a home office
- capacity to work in confined spaces and at heights
- minimum five credit points combining education and experience in pressure equipment industry as defined in National Board documents NB-263 and RCI-1
- willingness to complete assigned training and pass National Board IS Commission test within six months if not currently certified
- self-motivated with excellent organization and problem-solving skills
- strong attention to detail
- ability to clearly explain inspection findings and recommendations
- proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office
- team player mindset despite remote work
Job Qualifications
- Associate degree from technical, vocational, or engineering college preferred
- high school diploma or GED with technical experience acceptable
- experience in pressure equipment industry including engineering, manufacturing, steam plant operations, repair or maintenance, inspection, or NDE
- proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- preferred National Board In-Service Commission or state commission in California
- strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and time management skills
- ability to travel extensively and work independently
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering is a plus
- additional National Board endorsements are a plus
Job Duties
- Conduct in-service inspections of boilers and pressure vessels in assigned territory
- travel extensively including week-long trips and overnight stays
- work safely in confined spaces or at heights using safety equipment
- perform inspections according to National Board rules and ASME codes
- prepare detailed inspection reports and communicate findings to clients
- manage time and work expenses effectively
- maintain and utilize company equipment and adhere to intellectual property guidelines
