Job Description

Kimpton Hotels is a pioneering boutique hotel brand that has redefined hospitality since its inception in 1981. Rooted in San Francisco's entrepreneurial spirit, Kimpton embraces a culture that celebrates individuality, creativity, and heartfelt human connections. This brand was founded by Bill Kimpton in response to the impersonal and generic nature of traditional hospitality. Kimpton's mission is to create spaces where guests and employees alike feel genuinely connected and valued. The company prioritizes an authentic, warm, and engaging environment where each person can bring their true self to work, resulting in an atmosphere that is quirky, empowering, and unique. Kimpton’s hospitality extends beyond just service, as it is deeply committed to enriching the lives of its employees, guests, owners, and communities. The team-driven culture fosters autonomy and passion for improving others’ lives every day.

The Culinary Lead role at Kimpton Hotels is a dynamic and multifaceted position that plays a crucial part in maintaining the brand's high standards for food quality, guest experience, and operational excellence. This role involves oversight of kitchen operations, including leading the culinary team, ensuring consistency in food preparation and presentation, and supporting the financial and developmental goals of the restaurant. The Culinary Lead is responsible for coordinating food orders, supervising cooking and plating processes, maintaining sanitation, and upholding safety standards. Collaboration with the Restaurant Manager is essential for menu pricing, inventory management, and cost reporting. Beyond kitchen management, this position values team development, encouraging skill growth, and fostering a positive work environment. Working at Kimpton means embracing versatility and wearing multiple hats as needed, contributing to an environment that is exciting and uncommon. This role offers a competitive hourly wage starting at $21.50 and embraces a flexible schedule inclusive of mornings, nights, holidays, and weekends, underscoring Kimpton’s commitment to employee needs and operational demands.

Kimpton Hotels invites prospective Culinary Leads to join a workplace where diversity is celebrated, and unique perspectives are embraced as part of its ongoing commitment to inclusion. The company welcomes people from all backgrounds, identities, and experiences, recognizing that differences make a difference. Kimpton promotes a culture of acceptance and understanding, aiming to reflect the diversity of its guests in its workforce. This is not just a job but an opportunity to grow within a spirited company known for its human-centered approach to hospitality, empowering employees to lead themselves and make a meaningful impact every day.
