The role being offered is a P6 Scheduler position based in Chicago, Illinois. This is a permanent role with a competitive salary range of $95,000 to $130,000 annually. The P6 Scheduler will play a pivotal role in managing and maintaining construction project schedules, primarily using Primavera P6 software. This junior-level position is designed for candidates aiming to develop their scheduling expertise and eventually evolve into more senior roles within the firm. The scheduler will work closely with the Scheduling Manager and project teams to ensure that construction projects remain on track, financially sound, and aligned with contract requirements.

In this role, you will develop Work Breakdown Structures to maintain control and integrity of contractual work, create and manage project performance baselines, prepare comprehensive weekly and monthly reports on cost performance and forecasts, and analyze variances to propose mitigation strategies for cost and schedule deviations. Your contributions will directly support Project Managers in administrative and organizational tasks, as well as in risk management by reviewing project risk statuses and recommending recovery measures. This position not only requires strong technical skills in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project but also demands a detail-oriented and analytical mindset, along with the ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels, including clients and vendors.

Job Duties

  • Develop the Work Breakdown Structures for control and integrity of work to be performed as defined by the contract
  • develop, maintain, and execute project performance baselines
  • prepare and disseminate aggregated weekly and monthly reports on cost performance, trends, forecasts and cost savings
  • develop and maintain project schedules
  • assist in development of recommended recovery measures for projects behind schedule and/or over budget
  • analyze variances in cost and schedule performance against the plan, and communicate reasons for issuance of variance and proposed mitigation plans
  • review schedules developed by others and advise project managers as to whether those schedules are logical, complete, and satisfy contract requirements
  • provide support for data analysis, data validation and data mining efforts required to refine benchmarks
  • coordinate the review of Project Risk with management and provide status reporting
  • support the Project Manager and project team in organizational and administrative activities
