The role of Juice and Specialty Product Preparer is essential within the context of Product Connections' retail and experiential marketing activities. This position primarily focuses on preparing juice and other specialty food products for purchase and conducting product demonstrations and sampling events as part of the company's marketing strategies. The job requires the ability to set up preparation areas correctly, understand and follow detailed program instructions, and adhere strictly to safety and food handling guidelines to ensure compliance and customer safety.
Responsibilities include preparing specialized food and beverage products, using equipment safely, adhering to proper lifting techniques, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in the work area. The Juice and Specialty Product Preparer must also manage event schedules, complete reporting requirements accurately, and participate in relevant training and certifications. This role involves interacting with customers during demonstrations, providing quality sampling experiences that align with marketing objectives. The position demands physical stamina, including the ability to lift significant weights, stand for extended periods, and work in environments with temperature variations.
This full-time role supports a dynamic retail store environment characterized by moderate to high noise levels and requires collaboration with coworkers and management. English language skills are required, while bilingual abilities are considered an asset based on business needs. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in food preparation or product demonstrations preferred
- Applicable state and local food safety certification or license
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs multiple times a day
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety procedures
- Availability to work varied hours including weekends and holidays
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
- Willingness to attend required training and certifications
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience in product marketing, product demonstrations or in the food, beverage or restaurant industry preferred
- Ability to safely and effectively prepare juice or other specialty products for purchase
- Ability to conduct demonstrations and sampling events of other products as needed
- Applicable state and local food safety certification or license
- Ability to continuously lift a minimum of 50 lbs. several times per day
- Ability to push a wheeled machine (with weight ranges 50-600 lbs.) to/from the sales floor
- Ability to work in environments with exposure to cold, refrigerated conditions and hot equipment
- Ability to follow safety and food safety compliance guidelines
- English language skills
- Bilingual skills may be required based on business necessity
Job Duties
- Properly set up and prepare the area for specialized food products
- Fully read materials that accompany product demonstrations to understand program scope, instructions, production requirements and program compliance
- Follow all safety requirements when using equipment (e.g. hot machinery or sharp blades)
- Practice proper lifting techniques when working with boxes or heavy merchandise
- Adhere to all required tasks and procedures related to safe food handling, preparation, production, packaging, labeling, merchandising and disposal
- Accurately complete all reporting requirements (including on-line requirements) as required
- Regularly check the product event schedule and email for upcoming activities, corporate news updates, event changes and instructions, and supervisor requests
- Complete certifications and attend special training sessions as required
- Follow safety and compliance guidelines for appropriate machine operation, cleaning and maintenance
- Maintain a clean, sterile and safe work area using proper cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Assist other teammates with event set-up or clean-up and/or with kitchen duties when needed
- Conduct food sampling and demonstrations in support of the needs of business
- Follow general set-up and teardown guidelines
