The Product Connections team specifically focuses on creating memorable and effective consumer experiences through product demonstrations and sampling events. This position involves preparing juice and other specialty food and beverage products for purchase, ensuring compliance with food safety standards and engaging directly with customers during events. The role demands hands-on involvement in setup, preparation, and execution of product demonstrations, along with accurate completion of reporting tasks. Candidates will work within retail store environments, interacting regularly with coworkers, management, and customers, and will be required to manage physical tasks such as lifting, operating equipment, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards. Working hours can vary to meet event needs, and employees must be prepared to handle exposure to refrigerated conditions and food preparation equipment. Job Requirements
- Previous experience in product marketing, product demonstrations or related fields preferred
- Applicable state and local food safety certification or license required
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs several times per day
- Ability to push wheeled machinery weighing between 50-600 lbs to and from the sales floor
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Willingness to work varied hours
- Ability to work in cold, refrigerated conditions and around hot equipment
- Ability to use and operate kitchen equipment safely
- Visual ability to read instructions for safety and compliance
- Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing
- Ability to interact effectively with customers
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience in product marketing, product demonstrations or in the food, beverage or restaurant industry preferred
- Ability to safely and effectively prepare juice or other specialty products for purchase
- Ability to conduct demonstration and sampling events of other products as needed
- Applicable state and local food safety certification or license
- Strong communication skills to interact with customers effectively
- Ability to read and understand written instructions and execute them accordingly
Job Duties
- Properly set up and prepare the area for specialized food products
- Fully read materials that accompany product demonstrations to understand program scope, instructions, production requirements and program compliance
- Follow all safety requirements when using equipment such as hot machinery or sharp blades
- Adhere to all required tasks and procedures related to safe food handling, preparation, production, packaging, labeling, merchandising and disposal
- Accurately complete all reporting requirements including online requirements as needed
- Regularly check the product event schedule and email for upcoming activities, corporate news updates, event changes, instructions and supervisor requests
- Complete certifications and attend special training sessions as required
- Follow safety and compliance guidelines for appropriate machine operation, cleaning and maintenance
- Maintain a clean, sterile and safe work area using proper cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Assist other teammates with event set-up or clean-up and/or kitchen duties when needed
- Conduct food sampling and demonstrations in support of the business needs following general set-up and teardown guidelines
