The Juice and Specialty Food Preparation Specialist role plays a critical part in Acosta Group’s mission by preparing juice and other specialty food products for purchase while conducting in-store product demonstrations and sampling events. This position is integral to creating engaging customer experiences that support brand objectives through direct interaction and product education. Working within fast-paced retail store and warehouse environments, the role demands strict adherence to food safety and cleaning protocols, precise operation of food-preparation equipment, and commitment to maintaining a clean, sterile workspace to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction.

Employees in this role are expected to routinely set up demonstration areas, review detailed instructional materials for each program, and safely operate equipment including hot machinery and sharp blades. Physical demands are a key consideration, with tasks requiring the ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively, push wheeled machines ranging from 50 to 600 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in varying temperature conditions such as refrigerated areas and near hot equipment. Effective communication skills are essential as team members engage directly with customers and fellow employees to deliver clear information and foster positive interactions.

Job Requirements

  • Applicable state and local food safety certification or license
  • physical ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs repeatedly, push wheeled machines (50-600 lbs), stand for extended periods, climb a 6' step stool when necessary, and work in cold refrigerated conditions and near hot equipment
  • visual ability to read instructions to ensure safety and food safety compliance
  • ability to sit, stand, talk, hear and use hands/fingers to operate computers and peripherals
  • ability to listen, read, understand, and communicate information and ideas clearly in writing and orally
  • English is the primary language skill required

Job Duties

  • Properly set up and prepare the area for specialized food products
  • fully read materials that accompany product demonstrations to understand program scope, instructions, production requirements and program compliance
  • follow all safety requirements when using equipment (e.g., hot machinery or sharp blades) and practice proper lifting techniques when handling boxes or heavy merchandise
  • adhere to required tasks and procedures related to safe food handling, preparation, production, packaging, labeling, merchandising and disposal
  • accurately complete all reporting requirements (including online requirements) as required
  • regularly check the product event schedule and email for upcoming activities, corporate news updates, event changes and instructions, and supervisor requests
  • complete certifications and attend special training sessions as required
  • follow safety and compliance guidelines for appropriate machine operation, cleaning and maintenance
  • maintain a clean, sterile and safe work area using proper cleaning chemicals and equipment
  • assist other teammates with event set-up or clean-up and/or with kitchen duties when needed
  • conduct food sampling and demonstrations in support of business needs
  • follow general set-up and teardown guidelines
