The brand operates more than 100 hotels and resorts worldwide, representing the pinnacle of luxury travel and hospitality. Known for its commitment to quality, innovation, and genuine guest engagement, Four Seasons has consistently set the standard for excellence in the hospitality sector.

The Four Seasons is powered by its people – a collective of passionate, dedicated professionals who strive for continuous improvement, pushing boundaries to achieve new heights in service and operational excellence. The company culture is deeply rooted in mutual respect, inclusivity, and the principle of treating others the way one would like to be treated. At Four Seasons, employees are encouraged to foster meaningful connections with guests, colleagues, and the community, enriching both the guest experience and their own personal and professional growth.

This particular opportunity is situated in the heart of Napa Valley, California, a premier wine country destination renowned for its vineyards, exquisite cuisine, and scenic beauty. The Four Seasons Napa Valley embodies luxury set within a world-class vineyard estate, offering guests innovative and seasonal culinary experiences at the Michelin-starred restaurant Auro, holistic spa services at Spa Talisa, and the signature attentive Four Seasons hospitality. The resort is proud to hold the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star rating, attesting to its commitment to outstanding service and exceptional guest satisfaction.

The role of Junior Sommelier at Four Seasons Napa Valley is a distinguished position that offers a unique blend of hands-on wine expertise, leadership, and guest interaction. The Junior Sommelier is tasked with crafting and curating thoughtfully designed wine lists that complement the resort's culinary offerings and meet the sophisticated tastes of its discerning clientele. This includes ordering and managing wine inventory, ensuring proper storage, rotation, and stock levels to maintain optimal quality and availability.

In addition to inventory management, the Junior Sommelier plays a pivotal role in enhancing the guest experience through expert wine pairings and personalized recommendations tailored to each guest's preferences and the menu selections. This position requires comprehensive knowledge of wine varieties, regions (with an emphasis on Napa Valley), and pairing techniques, as well as the ability to communicate this knowledge effectively to guests and team members alike.

Beyond guest service, the Junior Sommelier is responsible for training and mentoring food and beverage staff across all outlets, ensuring that all team members uphold Four Seasons' cultural and service standards. This involves organizing educational sessions, developing training materials focused on wine knowledge and service protocols, and fostering staff development through continued learning opportunities. The Junior Sommelier also takes on managerial responsibilities during shifts when required, overseeing service operations, handling opening and closing procedures, and addressing any operational concerns to ensure smooth and efficient service.

This position demands strong financial acumen as well, including maintaining and controlling beverage costs to maximize profitability through careful inventory management, cost analysis, and sales reporting. The Junior Sommelier collaborates with management to analyze sales data, forecast future needs, and implement strategies to improve service quality and cost efficiency.

As part of the Four Seasons team, the Junior Sommelier will have access to exclusive benefits including competitive hourly compensation, complimentary accommodations at Four Seasons properties worldwide, employee meals, and participation in 401k retirement plans. The role offers flexible scheduling accommodating early mornings, mid-days, and evening shifts to support the resort's round-the-clock operational requirements.

This position is ideal for individuals with a passion for wine, hospitality, and leadership, seeking to advance their career in a prestigious luxury environment that values cultural respect, continuous learning, and exceptional guest service.
