Operating in more than 120 countries, Baker Hughes is at the forefront of pioneering technologies that make energy safer, cleaner, and more efficient for both people and the planet. The company emphasizes its commitment to innovation, safety, and sustainability through its comprehensive portfolio of systems and products. One of its prominent divisions, Waygate Technologies, offers a full suite of non-destructive testing solutions and equipment, including radiography, computed tomography, remote visual inspection, ultrasound, and eddy current products. These advanced technologies are designed to support industries in maintaining high standards of safety and reliability for their equipment and infrastructure.
As a Jr. Field Service Engineer at Baker Hughes, you will play a crucial role in the maintenance and support of Waygate Technologies’ industrial x-ray systems and related equipment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology, such as the Phoenix 2D & 3D CT X-ray testing machines, both hardware and software. Your responsibilities will include standard maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, and calibration of complex equipment at Waygate sites and customer locations. Given the nature of the role, significant travel is expected, with over 70% travel to various sites, requiring flexibility and a commitment to customer service excellence.
The Jr. Field Service Engineer position is designed for individuals who are passionate about technology and field service work. You will be actively involved in ensuring the operational efficiency of high-tech inspection systems by maintaining and repairing critical components like x-ray tubes, generators, coolers, scanners, stepper motors/controllers, power supplies, high voltage control circuits, motion control systems, and high-end PCs. Alongside technical duties, you will provide vital customer support through phone and onsite service interactions, ensuring customer satisfaction from start to finish with timely reporting and administrative duties.
The role demands a proactive approach to safety and quality standards during work scope execution, demonstrating attention to detail and responsibility for both yourself and the client environment. Candidates should be prepared for a physically demanding position requiring the ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and should possess strong communication skills to coordinate service reporting and customer interactions effectively.
Baker Hughes values work-life balance and offers its employees flexible working patterns tailored to accommodate extensive travel commitments. Compensation for travel time and overtime as well as coverage for travel expenses are part of the package. The company seeks individuals living within a drivable distance to an airport who hold US citizenship and valid driver's licenses, with the ability to obtain a passport.
Joining Baker Hughes means becoming part of a diverse and inclusive workforce that encourages employees to bring their authentic selves to work. The company invests heavily in employee health, well-being, training, and leadership development. As an employee, you will benefit from comprehensive private medical care options, safety nets through life insurance and disability programs, tailored financial education assistance, parental leave, mental health resources, dependent care, and opportunities for various voluntary benefits.
The annual pay scale for the Jr. Field Service Engineer role ranges from $65,930 to $122,340, reflecting the skills, experience, and location of candidates. This competitive salary is complemented by company-sponsored benefit programs, including health and welfare plans and a 401k Thrift Plan, ensuring a well-rounded package that recognizes and rewards employee contributions. Baker Hughes is also committed to equitable hiring practices, considering qualified candidates of diverse backgrounds, including those with criminal histories, in compliance with fairness and legal standards.
This position represents a significant career opportunity for engineers eager to advance in the field of industrial technology services, seeking to apply their technical knowledge in a dynamic, customer-focused, and innovative environment. If you are ready to take the next step in your career with a global leader that pushes the boundaries of energy and technology, Baker Hughes invites you to join their team and help take energy forward.
