This position is part of Joybird, a subsidiary of La-Z-Boy that focuses on modern furniture retail, specializing in delivering exceptional customer experiences through its showrooms. The role of Lead Sales Associate at Joybird involves a significant responsibility for managing the sales floor, driving sales performance, and ensuring customers receive outstanding service. The position requires overseeing store opening and closing processes, supporting and mentoring sales associates, and maintaining showroom visual and merchandising standards. The Lead Sales Associate is critical to achieving financial goals with annual sales targets ranging between $5 million and $8 million. This role also involves building and maintaining a loyal client base through proactive outreach and personalized follow-ups, cultivating lasting relationships that promote repeat business.

The candidate will serve as a role model on the sales team, embodying high standards in customer service and sales generation, and contributing valuable insights to product, marketing, and technology teams to enhance offerings and customer satisfaction. Flexibility is essential, as the schedule includes mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. The position offers a competitive base compensation ranging from $18 to $22 per hour, coupled with uncapped commission opportunities and monthly bonuses based on meeting sales goals. Job Requirements

  • 2 plus years retail sales experience
  • Shift supervision experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills required
  • No travel required
  • Availability to work flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

  • Minimum of 2 years retail sales experience with shift supervision preferred

  • Passion for driving customer service experience
  • Demonstrated aptitude for managerial responsibilities as a key holder
  • Knowledge of furniture industry a plus
  • Ability to work independently and in team settings
  • Proficiency in Mac operating systems and Microsoft Office
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Job Duties

  • Responsible for opening and closing the store and performing other duties in the absence of management
  • Assigned and responsible for opening and closing the store with store keys and alarm code
  • Responsible for daily sales reporting to retail leadership
  • Oversee the sales floor during high volume periods, support sales team and ensure financial goals are met
  • Serve as a role model by delivering exceptional customer experience
  • Maintain showroom design and visual standards using merchandising guidelines
  • Maximize sales by building and maintaining a personal clientele and driving store sales through client follow-up
  • Assist leadership in creating programs and initiatives to enhance customer experience
  • Share customer needs and feedback with product, marketing, and technology teams
  • Listen and address customer feedback and complaints empathetically
