This position is based at the Kennecott Copper operation near Salt Lake City, Utah, a renowned mining site known for producing copper, precious metals like gold and silver, molybdenum, tellurium, and sulfuric acid. Kennecott is one of the top-producing mines globally, contributing approximately 11 percent of the U.S. annual copper production. We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Power-Line Installer and Repairer to join our safety-driven and inclusive Energy Services team. This is a critical role responsible for the safe generation, transmission, and distribution of electrical power throughout the Kennecott Copper operation. The successful candidate will work a lifestyle-friendly schedule of four days per week, ten hours per day, with some on-call duties, affording them the opportunity to be home daily in Salt Lake City.

Reporting to the Supervisor of Energy Services, the Electrical Power-Line Installer and Repairer will install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground high-voltage power lines and related equipment. This role demands performing high-voltage switching and energized work compliant with Minimum Approach Distance (MAD) safety requirements. The individual will also supervise and support line workers engaged in energized and de-energized tasks, conduct preventative maintenance and diagnostics on electrical infrastructure including substations, and respond to emergencies through on-call rotations. Adhering to strict safety standards such as lockout/tagout procedures, arc flash safety, and Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) requirements is paramount.

This position is ideal for a certified journeyperson lineman with at least five years of hands-on experience working within industrial, utility, or mining electrical environments. Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to personal and team safety, proficiency in working with high-voltage systems up to 25kV or higher, and the ability to interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals. Familiarity with applicable electrical codes, standards, and safe work practices is essential.
