We are currently seeking a dedicated Room Attendant to join our housekeeping team. This role is vital in maintaining the cleanliness and comfort of our guest rooms and public areas, ensuring that every guest experiences a spotless and inviting atmosphere upon arrival. The Room Attendant will follow established cleaning standards, safely use cleaning chemicals, and manage housekeeping supplies effectively. The Room Attendant role involves cleaning and servicing assigned rooms or areas according to strict standards, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing bathrooms. The attendant must use protective equipment, follow safety procedures rigorously, and comply with hotel regulations regarding chemical use. Monitoring the progress of cleaning through software, reporting any maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly, and responding effectively to guest complaints and special requests are critical parts of this role. The attendant will also be responsible for controlling supplies to minimize waste, handling lost and found items, collaborating with other departments to maintain service quality, assisting with deep cleaning projects, and performing turndown duties.

Successful candidates will be able to meet time standards to ensure efficient workflow, prioritize tasks effectively, and possess strong verbal and written communication skills. They must be observant to identify stains and uncleanliness and ready to engage positively with guests to ensure their satisfaction. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays is essential, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision is required. Familiarity with housekeeping software and basic math skills are beneficial. The physical demands of the role include the ability to exert mobility for extended periods, lift and transport supplies and equipment weighing up to 75 or even 250 pounds, and work in varying temperature conditions, both moderate and extreme.

Job Duties

  • clean and service assigned rooms or areas according to established standards including making beds dusting vacuuming and sanitizing bathrooms
  • use safety protection equipment and follow established safety procedures at all times
  • handle and store chemicals in compliance with hotel regulations and local laws
  • track room cleaning progress using appropriate software report rooms that cannot be serviced to a supervisor
  • report necessary repairs or unsafe conditions using appropriate software
  • immediately report any health and safety incidents security breaches or suspicious behavior to the supervisor or manager on duty
  • respond to guest complaints and special requests to ensure satisfaction
