Job Description
Regional Center of the East Bay (RCEB) is a community-based, private non-profit corporation under contract with the California Department of Developmental Services. It serves over 25,000 children and adults with developmental disabilities across Alameda and Contra Costa counties. RCEB is committed to providing comprehensive intake, assessment, diagnosis, and coordination of community-based services tailored to meet the evolving needs of individuals with developmental disabilities. The organization envisions a future where individuals with developmental disabilities are fully integrated into their communities, enjoying a quality of life that includes family life, social engagement, education, employment, and independent living according to their preferences and abilities.
At RCEB, the dream is to support children living in family and community settings, attending neighborhood schools, and forging meaningful friendships. Adults are envisioned to live in residences of their choice, whether with family, friends, or partners, and to participate fully in community activities such as work, volunteering, training, and leisure. The organization prides itself on treating persons with developmental disabilities as valuable contributors to society with meaningful relationships and rights.
The Case Manager role at RCEB is a vital position that plays a key part in realizing this vision. Case Managers are responsible for the entire case management process, including assessment, evaluation, planning, authorization, advocacy, monitoring, and documentation review. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to work with diverse populations. Case Managers facilitate and oversee the development and implementation of Individual Program Plans (IPP) or Individual Family Service Plans (IFSP) for consumers, ensuring the provision of services meets consumer needs and complies with legal and regulatory standards.
Case Managers also advocate for consumers’ rights under the law, assist in securing essential evaluations and diagnostic reports, and continuously monitor health and safety. The role requires meticulous documentation, adherence to RCEB policies, and timely completion of developmental reviews. Supervisors rely on Case Managers to keep them informed of caseload statuses and unmet community needs.
Employment with RCEB as a Case Manager is full-time, with competitive bi-weekly salary ranges based on level and experience. The Case Manager I salary range is approximately $2,621.57 to $3,873.25 bi-weekly ($68,160.82 to $100,704.50 annually), while Case Manager II offers $2,726.40 to $4,028.14 bi-weekly ($70,886.40 to $104,731.64 annually). Spanish fluency is highly preferred and eligible for a $120 bi-weekly salary differential.
RCEB hosts in-person job fairs in their San Leandro and Concord offices where qualified candidates have the opportunity to interview on-site. Successful candidates typically start on either September 14 or October 12, 2026, depending on preference and pre-employment completion. The organization promotes diversity, not discriminating based on race, gender, disability, or other protected characteristics and offers a supportive work environment.
