The role available at Margaritaville Casino Resort Bossier City focuses on delivering outstanding culinary services as part of the resort's guest satisfaction standards. This position involves preparing and executing food production in alignment with predefined recipes and quality benchmarks. The successful candidate will contribute to creating a positive guest and employee atmosphere by maintaining professionalism and adhering to the resort's stringent food handling and sanitation procedures. Responsibilities include preparing various food items such as soups, sauces, baked and grilled dishes, and ensuring proper portion control while minimizing waste. Candidates will be expected to handle equipment and maintain cleanliness in work areas including coolers, storerooms, and freezers. Working in this role requires effective communication skills to interact with guests and team members, along with problem-solving capabilities to address operational challenges. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Minimum of 2 years of high-volume line cooking experience and/or a culinary degree preferred
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English
  • Ability to read and understand order tickets, schedules, memos, and simple instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and coworkers in one-on-one and small group settings
  • Basic mathematical skills including calculating figures, amounts, and percentages
  • Ability to interpret written, verbal, diagram, and schedule-based instructions
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Culinary degree and/or sanitation certification preferred but not required

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Develop and implement guest satisfaction standards for guests and employees
  • Attend departmental orientation
  • Create a positive guest and employee experience by being friendly, helpful, and approachable
  • Answer guest questions and anticipate guest needs
  • Execute food production according to Sous Chef production sheets
  • Practice clean as you go work ethic and follow food handling and sanitation procedures
  • Prepare food quantities as directed by the Sous Chef
