The position of Team Leader at Schlotzsky's is a pivotal role within the corporate location, focused on supporting management in managing shift operations to ensure smooth restaurant functionality. This role is responsible for overseeing all areas of the restaurant including the exterior, drive-thru, lobby, dining area, restrooms, kitchen, bakery, and back dock to ensure these spaces meet the company's brand standards. A critical part of the job involves ensuring that recipe and preparation standards are strictly followed at every food preparation station to guarantee quality and consistency.

Additionally, the Team Leader plays an essential role in enforcing cash handling procedures, maintaining safety and security standards, and ensuring food safety protocols are upheld at all times. This includes monitoring food temperature controls and ensuring proper labeling and dating of applicable products. With a strong leadership component, the Team Leader addresses guest concerns, works closely with management on complex issues, and fosters a positive working environment where employees are treated with respect and given constructive feedback.

This role demands the highest level of compliance with company policies related to cash management, including protecting cash, performing deposits, auditing safes, and documenting cash variances with strict confidentiality. The Team Leader must maintain composure during challenging situations, adhere to all company policies, and consistently demonstrate a positive attitude. They are expected to arrive on time for every scheduled shift, comply with uniform and personal grooming standards, and follow strict safety and sanitation rules to maintain a safe and clean work environment.

To be successful as a Team Leader at Schlotzsky's, the candidate must be at least 18 years old and possess competency across various kitchen operations and guest service stations.
