As an educational and community-oriented museum, it plays a vital role in connecting people with the transformative power of art, fostering creativity, and preserving artistic heritage for future generations. The Museum provides a welcoming and inclusive environment for visitors from all backgrounds, ensuring access to cultural experiences through innovative programming and state-of-the-art facilities.
We are currently seeking a full-time Facilities Associate to join our dedicated team. This non-exempt position operates Wednesday through Sunday, including occasional evenings and early mornings as dictated by our event schedule. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Facilities, the Facilities Associate will be instrumental in maintaining the cleanliness and operational integrity of the Museum’s spaces. The role demands a motivated self-starter with attention to detail and flexibility in managing multiple tasks. The Facilities Associate will contribute to creating a safe, clean, and pleasant environment for visitors and staff alike.
The Facilities Associate role entails a broad range of responsibilities focused on the daily upkeep of the Museum, including routine cleaning, exterior maintenance, and quick response to cleaning emergencies. This individual will be responsible for ensuring that public and private spaces within the Museum meet high standards of cleanliness, supporting the overall visitor experience and preserving the integrity of the art and installations. Duties include maintaining garbage and recycling schedules, performing both routine and specialized cleaning, assisting with set-up and tear down for events, and managing supplies and storage related to facility operations.
The Museum values safety and professionalism, expecting all team members to adhere to internal policies. The Facilities Associate should be prepared to engage in outdoor tasks such as pressure washing, ice and snow removal, and maintaining the exterior of the parking lot and facility perimeter. Collaboration and good communication with outside vendors and the public are also essential to this position. This role is ideal for someone with prior facility cleaning or maintenance experience who is physically capable and committed to maintaining a superior environment within a dynamic museum setting. Benefits for this position include paid vacation, holidays, sick time, comprehensive medical coverage, and retirement plans, making it a rewarding career opportunity within the arts community.
