Job Description
ABM is one of the world’s largest providers of facility services and solutions, committed to creating cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environments across a broad range of industries. Founded in 1909, ABM has a storied history spanning over a century, supporting the maintenance and operational efficiency of diverse facilities including commercial office buildings, universities, airports, hospitals, data centers, manufacturing plants, distribution centers, and entertainment venues. With over 100,000 team members working across 350+ offices in the United States, United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, and other international locations, ABM serves more than 20,000 clients globally with an annualized revenue approaching $8 billion. The company offers a comprehensive suite of services such as janitorial, engineering, parking, electrical and lighting, energy and electric vehicle charging infrastructure, HVAC and mechanical, landscape and turf, and mission-critical solutions.
ABM prides itself on being a military and veteran-friendly employer, encouraging veterans and candidates with military experience to apply. The company places a strong emphasis on diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity, ensuring a supportive work environment for all employees. ABM also participates in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security E-Verify program to electronically confirm employment eligibility. The company is committed to providing reasonable accommodations to individuals with disabilities and supports applicants throughout the hiring process.
The Janitorial Supervisor role is a vital leadership position within ABM’s janitorial services team. This supervisory role is responsible for ensuring that all facility cleaning operations are executed in strict compliance with company policies, client standards, and safety regulations. The Janitorial Supervisor will coordinate daily cleaning operations by delegating job assignments, providing direction, and supporting the cleaning team in achieving high-quality, efficient service delivery. When the Manager is absent, the supervisor assumes responsibility for on-site leadership to maintain operational continuity.
Key responsibilities include overseeing the cleanliness and safety of assigned buildings, managing and maintaining cleaning supplies and equipment, and handling cleaning chemicals in accordance with established safety standards. The supervisor plays a critical role in training new hires, monitoring work schedules, managing client communications, and reporting facility issues such as damage or broken items that require maintenance. The role demands the ability to operate specialized cleaning equipment and manage additional service requests promptly and effectively.
This position requires a reliable, proactive leader who can foster teamwork, ensure consistent performance, and maintain open communication between management and field employees. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds and maintain physical activity throughout the workday is necessary for success in this role. While a high school diploma or GED is not mandatory, previous experience in a similar janitorial or supervisory capacity is highly preferred. A valid driver’s license is often required, reflecting the potential need to travel between locations.
ABM offers a comprehensive benefits package for its frontline team members, including health insurance, dental insurance, paid time off, and other employee-centric programs that promote well-being and work-life balance. Joining ABM as a Janitorial Supervisor means becoming part of a globally recognized company that values its employees, invests in their professional growth, and supports diverse career paths within the facility services industry. Candidates ready to take on a leadership role in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment will find this opportunity rewarding and impactful.
