KBS is currently hiring for the position of Porter as part of their Janitorial Services Team. This is an hourly, non-exempt role ideal for individuals seeking to kickstart their careers in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with plenty of opportunities for leadership development. Starting pay begins at $12 per hour, with potential for higher wages up to $19.50 per hour for part-time and full-time employees who are willing to work at multiple sites. Shifts include short, two-hour assignments at various locations as well as longer shifts, requiring reliable transportation.

The Porter position is a vital role within KBS, providing exceptional cleaning services in high traffic and high volume facilities. The role requires excellent customer service skills and frequent interaction with customers to ensure their daily needs and requests are met promptly and efficiently. Porters are responsible for maintaining excellent relations with clients while executing janitorial tasks meticulously. Working either as an individual crew member or as part of a team, Porters apply their broad knowledge of cleaning and janitorial processes to deliver top-tier service.

In addition to carrying out cleaning duties, Porters are expected to exhibit problem-solving skills and the ability to lead when necessary. The role demands physical stamina, including the ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 10-12 hours) and the capacity to lift and move objects weighing up to 49 pounds. An important component of the job is to understand and follow safety protocols, read and interpret safety rules, chemical handling instructions, and company policies, typically presented in English, with some documents available in Spanish where required by law.

KBS employs the use of KBSPresence mobile timekeeping software to ensure accurate recording of work hours and attendance. All non-exempt employees must use this app for clocking in and out, as well as for accessing training and employment information. The company provides cell phone reimbursements as appropriate to support this technology usage.
