Job Description
Cocopah Casino is a premier entertainment establishment located in the heart of Arizona. Known for offering a comprehensive gaming experience, the casino operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week and caters to a diverse clientele looking to enjoy high-quality gaming and entertainment services. The establishment is dedicated not only to providing a vibrant and engaging atmosphere but also to maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly environment for its guests and employees alike. As a part of the Cocopah Indian Tribe, the casino emphasizes cultural respect and community involvement while pursuing excellence in the entertainment industry. The casino adheres strictly to internal control regulations, operational standards, and government gaming regulations to ensure a superior guest experience and regulatory compliance.
The role under consideration is for a Janitorial Maintenance employee working under the immediate supervision of the Janitorial Maintenance Lead. This position is key in maintaining the establishment’s cleanliness and order on a day-to-day basis. Duties include heavy cleaning tasks such as operating motor-driven cleaning equipment, mopping floors, cleaning lavatories, washing walls and glass surfaces, and removing rubbish. The employee is also responsible for routine maintenance activities, where timely communication of needed repairs and additions to management is essential. Besides cleaning, the role may involve stocking supplies and acting as a runner, transporting supplies to areas as needed.
The ideal candidate for this role must comprehend and comply with departmental control regulations and safety standards. This position requires physical stamina as the job includes significant walking and lifting. Because Cocopah Casino operates 24/7, employees in this role need to be flexible and prepared to work any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Applicants must meet strict employment criteria, including being at least 18 years old, passing pre-employment and ongoing random drug and alcohol testing, and obtaining certification through the Tribal Gaming Office and the Arizona Department of Gaming. The casino also requires that employees meet suitability standards, disqualifying candidates with certain criminal backgrounds to ensure a secure workplace.
For candidates seeking a stable, full-time job in the entertainment and gaming industry, Cocopah Casino offers great fringe benefits such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and AD&D insurance, an employee assistance program, 401K with employer match, and ancillary benefits including AFLAC and VTL programs. The position offers competitive pay with consideration for education and experience, ensuring fair and equitable treatment of all employees.
This janitorial role is not only vital for the operational excellence of the casino but also offers a dynamic work environment within a culturally rich and demanding industry. Cocopah Casino highlights equal employment opportunity and supports Native American and current employee employment preference policies, further embracing diversity and inclusion within its workforce.
