The role offered is a crucial individual contributor position within one of OSI Industries' manufacturing plants, specifically tailored for a Housekeeping team member. This role focuses on maintaining cleanliness and orderliness throughout various plant environments, including kitchens, labs, bathrooms, locker rooms, break rooms, entryways, hallways, offices, and conference rooms. The employee is responsible for following strict Housekeeping Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensuring that all production and housekeeping supplies are properly dispensed and stocked.
This position is an hourly role with a starting wage of $19.50 and is classified under a union contract, which grants eligibility for overtime pay beyond 40 hours per week as well as potential premiums for perfect attendance and evening or night shift work. Employees in this role can also access a comprehensive benefits package through the union, including medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans. As the role requires adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety protocols, the incumbent will be trained to utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all facility rules to maintain a safe workplace.
The Housekeeping team member is responsible for operating various cleaning equipment such as commercial washers, dryers, and specialized cleaning systems like the KaiVac. The role demands physical activity, including lifting items up to 50 pounds and performing tasks that require standing, walking, bending, and using hands and fingers to manage supplies and equipment effectively. The environment includes exposure to varying temperatures typical of food manufacturing plants and requires adherence to safety and quality standards at all times.
This role does not have supervisory responsibilities and focuses on executing assigned duties independently while communicating effectively with supervisors regarding any incidents, equipment issues, or hazards observed. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-2 years janitorial or housekeeping experience
- Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions
- Ability to understand written English preferred
- Must be flexible and adaptable to changing shifts, schedules and assignments

Job Duties
- Job is an individual contributor
- Job is an individual contributor and has no direct reports
- Clean (and stock for paper and plastic products) kitchens and labs, bathrooms, locker rooms, break rooms, entry ways and hall ways, laundry and frock rooms, and all offices and conference rooms per Housekeeping SOPs within scheduled timeframes
- Dispense and stock Production and Housekeeping supplies
- Ensure visitors, contractors, and temporary employees are properly attired to enter production areas per facility GMPs
- Operate and maintain various types of housekeeping equipment, i.e., commercial washer and dryer, KaiVac cleaning system, etc.
- Wash, dry, sort, match, and evaluate for use frocks, boots, gloves, and aprons
- Follow all Safety, Quality (GMP), Housekeeping SOPs, Facility Work rules and company policies at all times
