The company manages over 14,000 housing units across 16 states, catering primarily to seniors, veterans, and economically challenged groups. With a substantial development portfolio valued at $1.5 billion, the company consistently ranks among the top affordable housing developers and owners in the United States, making a difference not only in the financial realm but also in the lives of countless individuals and families.
The Granville Woods Lofts I & II is a residential community managed by Woda Cooper Companies, which exemplifies the company’s mission to create safe, attractive, and well-maintained affordable housing environments. This community is currently seeking a Janitor/Groundskeeper to join their dedicated team and uphold the high standards of cleanliness, maintenance, and resident satisfaction.
The Janitor/Groundskeeper plays a crucial role in maintaining an attractive community appearance and ensuring that the living environment is clean, safe, and well-kept. This position involves various responsibilities including general janitorial tasks such as mopping, window cleaning, trash removal, carpet cleaning, and maintenance of bathrooms, amenities, and common areas. Groundskeeping duties involve light landscaping, sweeping, grounds pick-up, and snow removal as directed. The Janitor/Groundskeeper also supports the maintenance team by assisting with additional repair tasks as needed and ensures all equipment and supplies are kept in proper working condition.
Working at Granville Woods Lofts I & II means becoming part of a team that values proactive hospitality and customer-centered service culture. A successful candidate will interact positively with residents, prospects, family members, and other associates to enhance community image and promote resident retention. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work in a community setting and who take pride in creating a welcoming and well-maintained environment for residents.
Woda Cooper Companies offers competitive wages and annual bonus opportunities, along with comprehensive benefits that support the well-being and development of its employees. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, short term disability and life insurance, a 401k plan with company match, and participation in the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), reflecting the company’s commitment to sharing its success with its workforce. Additional perks include cell phone discounts, paid time off consisting of 12 days plus 8 paid holidays and 2 floating holidays, and fitness reimbursement. This comprehensive benefits package underscores Woda Cooper’s dedication to fostering a positive, supportive workplace.
This Janitor/Groundskeeper position requires an individual with strong time management skills, the capability to work independently, and a willingness to be a team player. A light knowledge of plumbing, electrical, drywall, and painting is considered a plus. Candidates must be able to follow instructions carefully and demonstrate a solid work ethic. The role demands physical stamina, including the ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods, climb ladders, bend, and crawl into small spaces, and lift up to 50 pounds. A valid driver’s license and insurance are also required for this role.
